the look: on the bright side

Looking luxurious and classy on a budget can easily be achieved with a bit research and knowing how to pick the right garments and styling them accordingly. As a true lover of fashion, I am always looking to add a pop of color to my outfits and combining both timeless and trendy pieces. This #ootd shows exactly that!

One of my fashion icons at the moment is Emmy-winning host, tv personality, and style expert, Lilliana Vazquez. I totally ripped off her look from her Vogue Mexico feature, but definitely not the price tag. Don't worry I've given Lilliana full credit and we're social amigas.

Lilliana's look consisted in Alex Mika Jewelry, a Intermix Tunja Mini Blazer Dress, and Louboutin Pigalle 100 Leather Platform Pumps. Cost? Roughly about $2,000 and more than my bank account would allow me to spend. So, what I did, to recreate Lilliana's look for less than $70 was rent a similar Black Halo dress from Rent the Runway, pulled my Charles David nude pumps from the back of my closet, and added some stylish jewelry from Primark. To finish up the look, I decided on a bright fuchsia lip.
